How TraceNews decides what to publish, who decides it, and what we will not do.

Who We Are

TraceNews is an independent digital news publication based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, covering Business, Technology, AI, Finance and Sports for readers across India. Our editorial decisions are made by our own newsroom and by nobody else.

How We Choose Stories

We publish a story when it is accurate, in the public interest, and adds something a reader cannot easily get elsewhere. We weigh three questions before publishing:

1. Is it true?

   Every factual claim must be traceable to a named source, a document, or a first-hand observation by our reporter.

2. Does it matter?

   We prefer stories that affect readers’ money, work, safety, rights or daily life over stories that are merely popular.

3. Is it fair?

   Anyone criticised in a story is given a genuine opportunity to respond before publication, and their response appears in the story.

Sourcing

We name our sources wherever possible. We grant anonymity only when a source faces a real risk of harm and the information is of clear public importance. Anonymous claims are corroborated before publication, and we tell readers why a source is unnamed.

We do not publish material taken from other publications without independent verification and clear attribution.

Independence from Advertising

Use of AI

We may use software tools to help with transcription, translation, tagging and formatting. Every article published on TraceNews is written or reviewed and approved by a named human editor before publication. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated articles.

Plagiarism and Attribution

Copying another outlet’s work is grounds for removal of the article and dismissal of the contributor. Where we build on reporting first published elsewhere, we say so and link to it.
